Chicken Broccoli Rice Casserole for BACKPACKING

This is probably the #1 favorite of all of the backpacking meals in my family.  Let me know what you think!

Chicken-Broccoli Rice Casserole for Backpacking

One Serving

 

2/3 cup instant white rice (instant brown rice should work fine too)
1/2 cup freeze-dried chopped chicken
1/2 cup freeze-dried broccoli
2 Tbsp veloute chicken gravy mix
1/2 tsp. chef's choice seasoning blend
2 Tbsp sour cream powder
1/4 cup freeze-dried shredded cheddar cheese

Measure all ingredients into a freezer gallon sized ziploc bag.  When you're ready to eat, boil 1 1/2 cups water, and dump into bag of ingredients.  Gently stir together and let sit for 5-10 minutes until everything is softened and ready to eat.
