I have talked to some people get a little confused and overwhelmed about how to incorporate Thrive food into their cooking. Since it's a little different from what we're used to, it's easy to just revert back to our old ways of cooking and forget to use this awesome resource we have. So, here are some of the ways that I cook with my Thrive:
8 Ways to Thrive!
1. Snacking – Eat it straight out of the can - No need to rehydrate before eating!
2. Throw & go – Toss Thrive veggies into your sauces dry, and let it reconstitute as it cooks.
3. Tumble – Put some into a container with enough water, and gently tumble until water is absorbed.
4. Marinate – When you rehydrate, use liquids other than water for extra flavor: bouillon for meats, juice for fruits, etc.
5. Spritz – For more delicate food, lightly spritz them with a spray water to help keep their shape. This works well when you want to add something (like strawberries) to a salad without completely soaking it.
6. Powder – Blend veggies into a powder and sneak it into dishes, or use as baby food. It is also great for adding color and flavor to frosting by powdering the fruit!
7. Thrive-a-lize – Substitute Thrive for fresh foods in the recipes you already love! This is how I use it almost every day - especially when I don't have time to chop veggies or cook meat, or missing an ingredient.
8. Make ahead meals - Since everything is freeze dried and non-perishable...making meals ahead of time is very easy. Just put all of the Thrive ingredients for a soup or casserole together in a jar or bag. Then when you are having a busy evening, all you have to do is boil water and throw it in. Or take your pre-made meals with you camping!
