Back in 2008, I was struggling. My family was hit particularly hard with the housing recession since my husband was a Realtor at the time. Though my husband worked tirelessly during that time, people just weren’t buying houses, and it hurt. To make matters more difficult, we had 4 young and dependent children at home, with another baby on the way. I felt powerless to do anything to help our financial situation. All of my time and energy was tied up caring for the needs of our young family, and trying to hold myself together through a miserable, depressing and nauseating pregnancy. Things got so bad that I even broke out in shingles during my pregnancy – which I’m told is brought on from stress. I wanted so much to get a job, help my husband with his business, just do SOMETHING – but ultimately hiring a babysitter for 4 kids would negate any money I could bring in working. I did the best I could to keep our expenses to a minimum, finding creative ways such as couponing, but that was about all I could do. I felt powerless.
Five years later, the economy had improved, my husband had changed directions in his career, and with a lot of help and prayers things weren’t so scary financially. But I was faced with yet another crisis. My baby was entering kindergarten. I had been counting down the years until that wonderful Independence Day in my life when I could be free during the school day to run errands, clean the house, go on school field trips…but suddenly, the prospect of not having kids at home was scary. For 15 years – my entire adult life to that point – every second of my life had been defined by my kids. Suddenly, that was being taken away from me by the cruelty of Father Time…and I was in a crisis. What was I supposed to do with my extra time while the kids were at school? 7 hours each day is a LOT of time to fill, and it was extremely unsettling to not know how to justify my existence.
Then Thrive Life came into my life. I had fallen in love with the food years earlier, bought a few cans of food and abandoned it on my shelf, but that was it. When the possibility of being a consultant was presented, I was initially turned off by the idea. Why would I want to be a saleslady?!? For goodness sake, I had tried another sales business 15 years earlier and it was awful, and my husband had just gotten out of the sales industry! But gradually the idea grew on me, and knowing there were no sales requirements, it seemed safe enough so I decided to give it a try.
I can’t even tell you how much excitement it gave me starting in this business. I quickly realized that Thrive Life food is a fantastic product that can benefit everyone, and I can teach people how to use it so it doesn’t just sit on their shelves! As my business grew, I also came to realize that this business was the answer to the crises I had faced earlier – now I have a meaningful business that suits my talents and passion while the kids are away, a business which gives me power to contribute to our family financially, but also the flexibility to continue to keep my family’s needs the #1 priority. I still attend all of the events in my kids’ lives that are important to them. If I need to take a week or two off and just focus on family needs or a vacation, I don’t have to ask for permission. And I am still getting paid during that time.
The other unanticipated change that has occurred as a Thrive Life consultant, is that I don’t have to spend as much time in the kitchen cooking dinner! When I first bought the food, my initial intention was for the food to sit on a shelf for 24.9 years until it was nearly expired, or until we got hit by an earthquake. I didn’t really know how to use the food though. It turns out that the food doesn’t benefit anyone much if it’s just sitting sealed in a can. As a new consultant, I started opening the cans – with a lot of hesitancy at first – and as I opened them more and more, and started incorporating it into my cooking…the cooking got easier and less time consuming! Now I literally use the food every single day. It saves me over and over – from having to race to the grocery store for that one ingredient, and from having to chop veggies when I just don’t want to make time for that. It has changed how we eat when we go camping or on a vacation, since the food is so convenient & fast to prepare, and doesn’t need a cooler. If I ever had to go back to cooking the old way – without Thrive Life in my kitchen – I would feel deprived.
So now I want to help you! I want to give you the power to be able to cook healthy meals for your families without having to spend hours in the kitchen. I want to give you the power to contribute financially to your family, without having to leave your kids with a babysitter every day and miss everything important going on in their lives. I want you to have the power to live your dreams – maybe that dream is to get out of debt, or take your family on a vacation you could never afford, or pay for your kids to participate in sports. For me, all of those things were just a pipe dream for years, until I became a Thrive Life consultant. Now those dreams are reality – we have been able to do things that weren’t part of the budget before. This year, I’ll be contributing to my daughter’s college expenses, paying for kids to be involved in extracurricular activities, paying for family vacations and more – and all of it is being paid from what I have earned. It is truly empowering. Do you have a dream that hasn’t happened yet? What if you could earn enough to pay for those dreams? Join me today and I’ll be there every step of the way to help you be successful. Today is the day for you to make the first step, by deciding to take charge of your cooking experience and your life. 😊
